The 0-19 Starting Well Service is looking to appoint a Band 6 Safeguarding Nurse. This is a secondment opportunity to existing Starting Well Nursing staff. The post is part time for 12 months to cover maternity leave and is 22.5  hours per week to be worked over 3 days.  The post holder will be responsible for the management of a Safeguarding Caseload of children aged 5-19 years.

The post holder will be expected to work flexibly across the district.

As a Safeguarding Nurse working within the 0-19 Starting Well Service you will provide support to children and families who are involved with Statutory Social Care within the Continuum of Need across Cheshire West and Chester. The Safeguarding Nurse will form part of the Nursing Workforce within Starting Well to ensure that the children and families identified from their caseload are supported with all aspects of Health and Wellbeing.

Current or previous experience of Safeguarding and case management are essential elements of this role. As a key professional in the protection of children, you will be required to work collaboratively with other agencies to meet their needs.

You should have an excellent knowledge of the Healthy Child Programme and demonstrate a commitment to multi agency/ collaborative and integrated team working.

Regular clinical and safeguarding supervision will also be provided as will access to relevant internal and external training/development opportunities.
