The Post Holder will be able to provide comprehensive assessment of language disorders to inform a differential diagnosis. They must be able to undertake a basic initial assessment of a patient referred to memory services for possible dementia diagnosis and complete cognitive assessments i.e. ACE III (Addenbrooke’s cognitive examination). In addition the post holder will be expected to complete swallowing assessments for those persons under CWP services.
The post holder will also be required to carry out assessment of an individual’s capacity to consent to treatment and care. Additionally the post holder is required to provide assessment and management of dysphagia.
The post holder must ensure they are able to consolidate and develop clinical work regarding communication assessment, treatment and report writing and contribute to the assessment, planning, delivery and evaluation of professional and service developments, whilst working effectively as part of a multi-disciplinary team.
You must have appropriate UK professional registration.
This post is subject to the Rehabilitation of Offenders Act (Exceptions Order) 1975 and it will be necessary for a submission for Disclosure to be made to the Disclosure and Barring Service.
